KEPRO ECTO BLASTER 1 LTR

COMPOSITION:

Essential oils (Neem oil, Eucalyptus oil, Citronella oil).

DESCRIPTION:

Ecto Blaster contains the essential oils of the Neem tree (Azadirachta indica), Eucalyptus oil and citronella oil. The most important ingredient found in neem oil is Azadirachtin which is structurally similar to insect hormones called “ecdysones”, which control the process of metamorphosis as the insects pass from larva to pupa to adult. Azadirachtin seems to be an “ecdysone blocker”. It blocks the insect’s production and release of the hormones needed for the metamorphosis. Insects then will not molt, thus breaking their life cycle. Azadirachtin may also serve as a feeding deterrent for some insects. Depending on the stage of life-cycle, insect death may not occur for several days. However, upon ingestion of minimum quantities, insects become quiescent and stop feeding. Residual insecticidal activity is evident for 7 to 10 days. Neem oil also contains Mellantriol and Salannin, which are feeding detergents, meaning they make the insect lose their appetite and stop eating. Eucalyptus oil contains 1,8-cineole, which is a penetration enhancer, making the insect more vulnerable for the effects of Azadirachtin. Citronella oil works as a repellent, by blocking the scent that attracts insects. Ecto Blaster is harmless for birds and mammals.

INDICATIONS:

Ecto Blaster can be used to combat and prevent mites including: red fowl mite (Dermanyssus gallinae), Northern fowl mite (Ornithonyssus sylviarum), Tropical fowl mite (Ornithonyssus bursa), Scaly leg mite (Cnemidocoptes mutans) and ticks, biting lice (Mallophaga) and fleas in poultry. Ecto Blaster can be used in a fully occupied barn, in the presence of water and food.

PRECAUTIONS:

Wear protective face-masks, gloves & goggles. If contact with eyes or skin occurs, wash with water. To prevent harming honey bees: only apply during late evening, night, or early morning.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Shake well before use.

• During infestations : 150 ml of Ecto Blaster per 5 litres of clean water. Spray thoroughly (using a spray gun) on the chickens, cage surfaces and the inside walls of the barn. Repeat treatment after 2 days.
• Prevention : 100 ml of Ecto Blaster per 5 litres of clean water. Spray on the chickens, cage surfaces and the inside walls of the barn once a week.

The prepared solution should be used within 12 hours.
